About Us

 

 

Our names are Cal and Ciara and we are the founders of Uncovering Hidden Gems and our brand new travel app ‘Beyonder’. We are both born and raised in Victoria, and have always had an avid passion for travel, which has led us to where we are today!

​Whilst going on our own family trips we realised how much precious travel time we were wasting flicking through brochures at our hotel, searching google maps and even scrolling through trip advisor, trying to find the best local spots. Inspiration was then sparked to create our Hidden Gem Maps; a one stop shop for all places unique and less travelled!

We first launched our website and brand ‘Uncovering Hidden Gems’ in April of 2022, just weeks before we embarked on an 8 month road trip up and down the East Coast of Australia; researching and filming content for our brand & running Hidden Gem Races to help get the word out about our Hidden Gem Maps on social media!

The ultimate goal was always to release our very own mobile app, so after a year of travelling, research & developing, we were stoked to release ‘Beyonder’ in April of this year (2023). Beyonder is a highly advanced version of our original Hidden Gem Maps, as we wanted to release an app that is easy to use & full of information for passionate travellers!

​Lockdowns have tested people’s mental health all around Australia and the world and we understand how helpful travel can be to relieve stress. So we've set a goal to donate a share of the profits each year to organisations that are doing outstanding work in the space of mental health.
